The Swiss-Turkish Lawyers‘ Association meets the Swiss-Turkish Physicians’ and Academicians’ Association for dinner at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Zurich, which provides the opportunity for exchange between members of both associations. The opening talk by STAJ-president Ilhan Gönüler and STAV-president Belinda Nazan Walpoth is followed by a short speech of Atilay Ileri (member of the STAJ-board) upon the social importance of associations, especially in the context of integration. Mr Ileri does not hesitate to give tactical advice to all members for their future careers either. More than 60 Attorneys, Physicians, Lawyers and other guests are participating at the event.

STAJ invites Ayse Isil Karakas, judge at the European Court of Human Rights, to participate at a Networking-Lunch and Round-Table in Zurich. After a introductory speech by Ms Karakas, STAJ-members are given the opportunity to ask questions about the organisation of and proceedings before the ECHR. It is a lively discussion on the scope of Human Rights and their enforcement. Attorneys-at-Law, Lawyers as well as students participate at this event.

Student members of STAJ, accompanied by STAJ-president Ilhan Gönüler, observe a criminal trial at the High Court of the Canton of Zurich. The focus lies on the distinction between attempted murder and bodily harm.

STAJ is visiting the Federal Parliament in Bern. After a guided tour of the House of parliament, STAJ-members meet the parliamentary group Switzerland-Turkey. Mainly economic aspects are discussed.
